Intech has been awarded a $17.7 million contract by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for painting and repair work on the US 90 Eastbound Crescent City Connection (GNO 2) Bridge. Opened in 1988, the bridge is one of the longest cantilever bridges in the world, along with it's older Westbound twin. It is the closest highway crossing to the mouth of the Mississippi River and carries four lanes of US 90 traffic as well as two alternating-direction HOV lanes. Intech's contract includes blasting and painting portions of the below deck superstructure, overhead bracing connections, and steel traffic barriers as well as spot cleaning and painting the overhead portions of the truss superstructure and completing various routine repairs. Work is scheduled to begin in late 2015.
